KJ Health Matters to focus on moving policy forward in fast faced ecosystem

(Boston - Dec, 2016)— Kofi Jones, nationally acclaimed expert on health technology, has announced the formation of KJ Health Matters, a strategic policy, advocacy, and communications firm focused on serving the diverse and growing health innovation industry. This Boston-based firm will focus on three critical service areas:

  • Analysis - Focused on providing real time research on the quickly moving regulatory and legislative environment for healthcare technology on a 50 state and federal basis

  • Advocacy -   Committed to increasing ability to deploy innovative technologies by creating highly focused and thoughtful campaigns which result in a more permissive policy environment locally and nationally

  • Branding - Dedicated to improving the reach of those providing innovative solutions to our nations healthcare challenges by developing strategic communications, marketing, and community relations solutions

“There is no doubt that healthcare policy will continue to be a fast moving target in the coming years,” said Jones. “It is critical that those with innovation in this space continue to remain nimble and visible during this time. The primary goal of my work will be to ensure these organizations have the support they need to stay informed and successful.”

“We congratulate Kofi on the formation of KJ Health Matters,” said Roy Schoenberg, CEO of American Well. “Kofi is already an expert in the field of telehealth policy and regulation, but I expect her voice will resonate even more as an independent advocate and evangelist. We look forward to our continued work with Kofi and KJHM on making the (telehealth) world a better place.”

Jones has a diverse background, most recently serving as Vice President of Government Affairs and Telehealth Evangelist for American Well, a national telehealth solution provider with a partner national medical group comprised of multiple provider types. In this capacity, she served as policy advocate and compliance officer for technology providers, health plans, and health systems across the nation.

Prior to her work at American Well, Jones spent ten years in television news as a reporter and anchor and nearly four years as the Vice President of a major public relations firm, serving multiple industries. Jones also served the Governor Deval Patrick Administration, acting as Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Governor’s Housing and Economic Development Secretary.
